This prestigious development of four luxury contemporary homes was designed for Pennyfarthing Homes Ltd. The site was previously occupied by a vacant care home and sites on the cliff top at Milford-on-Sea with superb views across the Solent to the Needles and Isle of Wight in one direction, and to the Isle of Purbeck to the west.

Each of the four bed properties were individually designed as ‘upside down’ houses with living room and kitchen / diner placed on the first floor to maximise the views from the principle rooms and the large first floor balconies. The gated driveway provides access to a double garage for each dwelling.

The development was the result of much discussion and negotiation with the planning department of New Forest being a very sensitive site in a prominent location but also one located adjacent to the listed White House, a large Art Deco mansion with enclosed walls, recently converted to flats.

Given the prominent setting of the site, the planning authority were particularly concerned about the height of the buildings, and so they were designed to be sunk into the ground by 600mm with flat roofs so as not to compromise floor to floor heights. Landscape design was by Janine Pattison Studios.
