Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007
The CDM Regulations impose duties on clients who are planning construction works, whether new build, alteration/extension or demolitions. On ‘Notifiable Projects’ (more than 30 days duration or 500 person days), clients are required to appoint a competent CDM Coordinator before design work progresses to advise and assist and to coordinate arrangements for Health & Safety during the design stage and administer the ‘Health & Safety ‘ file.
Williams Lester offer our clients a highly professional service in respect of the CDM Coordinator role and provision of training where required. We have highly qualified and experienced professionals who will guide clients through the legislative process in a measured way. The management of the works on site are the responsibility of the Principal Contractor, however site inspections are available if required.
Health & Safety often receives a bad name due to overbearing bureaucracy and risk aversion. Williams Lester work with our clients to streamline the process and to integrate sensible health and safety considerations into the design and construction process. Consideration of ‘Buildability’ and long term operational and maintenance issues are encouraged so that health and safety hazards are avoided or minimised where practical, during the construction stage and throughout the life span of the building, often with inherent financial benefits.
